4 July 2010 - Doelan to Sauzon (Belle Ile)

Left Doelan about midday. By this time the sea breeze had started. Carefully extracted ourselves from the fore and aft mooring which was unfamiliar and also very close to the rocky breakwater. Excellent broad reach with cruising chute past Ile de Groix to Sauzon. About 4pm were were joined by a lot of dolphins which spent almost half an hour playing around and under the boat. We got very excited and took lots of photos and video clips, most of which are rubbish

Very helpful harbourmaster escorted us into the drying part of the harbour after we had waited on the buoys outside for 3 hours. That was more than enough of gentle rocking and rolling. Thanks to the lifting keel we are now in the inner harbour whilst the others are still rocking. There is also an outer harbour where the deep keel boats are rafted about 4 deep on fore and aft moorings - more sheltered than outside but not as good as here.

Sauzon seems a relaxed, sleepy sort of place. Maybe hire bikes tomorrow and explore.
